A Season of Growth

Valley Region Sees Investment Momentum 

From July through September, the Valley region experienced a wave of new investments that continue to bolster its manufacturing, technology and energy sectors. Spanning advanced nuclear fuel development, aerospace manufacturing, sustainable food production and tire‑recycling innovation, these projects further TVA’s mission of service by creating jobs and enhancing quality of life across the region.

These announcements represent just a portion of the significant economic activity taking place throughout the region. TVA celebrates these milestones alongside the many economic development partners helping bring these opportunities forward.

Jabil

Global engineering, supply chain and manufacturing solutions provider, Jabil, announced plans to open a new facility in Marshall County, Mississippi. The company plans to create approximately 2,200 new jobs and invest more than $119 million in its operations.

Economic development partners include Northcentral Electric Cooperative, Mississippi Development Authority, Marshall County Industrial Development Authority and Accelerate MS.

Auto Parts Manufacturing Mississippi

A leading automotive parts supplier in North America for Toyota Corolla, announced plans to expand operations in Lee County. The company plans to create 28 new jobs and invest $53 million to support increased production at the company’s Guntown operations.

Economic development partners include Tombigbee Electric Power Association, Community Development Foundation, Lee County and the Mississippi Development Authority. 

TRISO-X

TRISO-X, a nuclear fuel company, announced plans to expand operations in Roane County, Tennessee. The company plans to create 1,140 new jobs and invest hundreds of millions of dollars in the new fuel facility, research and development center.

Economic development partners include City of Oak Ridge Electric Department, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD), U.S. Department of Energy, East Tennessee Economic Development Agency, Roane County and the city of Oak Ridge.

Aluminum Dynamics

This aluminum recycling and manufacturing company announced plans to develop a recycled aluminum slab center in Lowndes County, Mississippi. Plans for the project include creating 100 new jobs and investing more than $200 million in the company’s operations.

Economic development partners include 4-County Electric Power Association, Mississippi Development Authority and Golden Triangle Development LINK.

Redwire Corp.

This aerospace and defense manufacturer announced plans to expand operations in Huntsville, Alabama. The company plans to create 150 new jobs and additional capital investment in manufacturing, integration and technical operations.

Economic development partners include the Huntsville-Madison Chamber of Commerce, the city of Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama Department of Commerce and Huntsville Utilities.

Bridgetown Natural Foods

Sustainable food producer, Bridgetown Natural Foods, announced plans to expand operations in Wilson County, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating 237 new jobs and investing more than $24 million, adding additional lines at the company’s facility.

Economic development partners include Middle Tennessee Electric, TNECD and the Joint Economic and Community Development Board of Wilson County.

Traxion Materials

Traxion Materials, a tire recycling company, announced plans to expand operations in Campbell County, Tennessee. The company plans to create 49 new jobs and invest $5 million to expand its Jacksboro recycling and upcycling operations.

Economic development partners include LaFollette Utilities Board, TNECD, East Tennessee Economic Development Agency, Campbell County Industrial Board and Campbell County.

Kyoto Fusioneering

Premier fusion technology and integrated systems developer, Kyoto Fusioneering, announced plans to establish operations in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Plans for this project include creating 51 new jobs and investing $47 million in the company’s U.S. headquarters operations in Anderson County.

Economic development partners include Oak Ridge Electric Department, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, U.S. Department of Energy, the city of Oak Ridge, Anderson County, East Tennessee Economic Development Agency and TNECD.

Prysmian

Prysmian, a global energy and digital connections provider, announced plans to expand operations in Jackson, Tennessee. The company plans to create 100 new jobs and invest $100 million in its Madison County operations. 

Economic development partners include Jackson Energy Authority, Greater Jackson Chamber, the city of Jackson, Madison County and TNECD.

The Lumber Manufactory

This sawmill operator announced plans to establish operations in New Albany, Mississippi. Plans for the project include creating 50 new jobs and investing $15 million in the company’s mill operations.

Economic development partners include New Albany Light Gas and Water, Three Rivers Planning and Development District, Union County and Mississippi Development Authority.

Marathon Cheese

This custom cheese packaging and transportation company announced plans to expand operations in Booneville, Mississippi. Plans for the project include creating 39 new jobs and investing $326,000 as the company expands production at its Prentiss County location.

Economic development partners include Prentiss County Electric Power Association, Mississippi Development Authority and Prentiss County Development Association.

Solero Technologies

Solero Technologies, a leading global automotive supplier, announced plans to expand operations in Water Valley, Mississippi. Plans for the project include creating 86 new jobs and investing $14 million to upgrade and add new lines at the company’s Yalobusha County operations.

Economic development partners include Water Valley Utilities Commission, the city of Water Valley, Yalobusha County Economic Development District and Mississippi Development Authority.

Dometic

This global outdoor technology company announced plans to expand operations in Sparta, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating more than 90 new jobs at its White County manufacturing facility.

Economic development partners include Sparta Electric and Public Works, the Highlands Economic Partnership and TNECD.

Siemens Healthineers

Global technology company, Siemens Healthineers, announced plans to expand operations in Blount County, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating more than 90 new jobs and investing $43.6 million in the company’s Molecular Imaging PET Detector Center for research and development and material production.

Economic Development partners include Maryville Electric Department, TNECD, Blount Partnership, Blount County, the city of Maryville and East Tennessee Economic Development Agency.

General Atomics

This advanced technologies manufacturer for the defense industry announced plans to expand operations in Lee County, Mississippi.

The company plans to create 125 new jobs and invest $87 million to expand production capabilities at its Shannon facility.

Economic development partners include the Tombigbee Electric Power Association, Community Development Foundation and Mississippi Development Authority.
