TVA regularly reviews and updates Reservoir Land Management Plans across its service territory to accommodate land use changes that have taken place over time, new standards, public recreation needs and other factors.
The updates to the 2000 Tims Ford Land Management Plan align with TVA’s current reservoir lands planning standards and seven-zone allocation system.
The updated plan adjusts land use allocations for approximately 12 percent of the 4,685.5 acres of TVA-owned land around Tims Ford Reservoir in Franklin and Moore counties in Tennessee.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has released the updated 2026 Tims Ford Reservoir Land Management Plan (RLMP) along with the associated Environmental Assessment and is now available for review at tva.com/landplanreview. Tims Ford Reservoir is in Franklin and Moore counties in Middle Tennessee.

The land use allocation changes involve approximately 12% of TVA-managed lands on Tims Ford Reservoir. Changes to the RLMP include updating allocations as needed to ensure accurate mapping and ensure land use aligns with current TVA planning standards. The changes also increase lands allocated for public recreation and ensure consistency with other RLMPs across the Valley region.

The updated RLMP considers public input during the review process and is developed in accordance with TVA Land Policy, Natural Resource Plan, and Comprehensive Valleywide Land Plan. These policies are based on the TVA Act, which directs the agency to responsibly and effectively manage natural resources on public lands.
