SR Durhamville Solar Project

Haywood County, Tennessee

October 2026

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has published the draft Environmental Assessment (EA) of the proposed SR Durhamville Solar project. This review evaluates the potential environmental effects of constructing, operating, and maintaining the proposed 66-megawatt solar facility located approximately 5.1 miles southeast of Durhamville, Tennessee. The solar facility would be constructed and operated by SR Durhamville, LLC. In addition to the No Action Alternative, TVA has evaluated the Action Alternative of purchasing power from the proposed SR Durhamville Solar Project.

Approximately 526 acres of the 715-acre Project Site would be developed, of which 341 acres would be occupied by the placement of solar panels. The Project description, preliminary layout, and environmental impact analyses are presented in this draft EA.

In 2026, TVA completed an Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) and associated environmental impact statement (EIS). The 2026 IRP identified the various resources that TVA intends to use to meet the energy needs of the TVA power service area through 2040, consistent with its least-cost planning obligation and continuing to deliver reliable, resilient, and affordable energy. The 2026 IRP anticipates growth of solar generating capacity in all scenarios analyzed and supports the expansion of solar generating capacity up to 5 gigawatts, as well as up to 5 gigawatts of storage capacity through 2040, depending on the level of load growth and other factors.
