Final 2026 Integrated Resource Plan

TVA has finalized the Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). TVA presented the final IRP recommendations and the EIS at the August 2026 Board of Directors meeting, and the Board accepted the final IRP recommendations. The EIS was reviewed and considered in TVA’s decision-making, concluding the IRP and environmental review process.

The IRP is a long‑term plan that guides how TVA will meet customer electricity needs over the next 20+ years. It informs future generation decisions and long‑range operational and financial planning. For comprehensive project information, visit tva.gov/irp.

In June 2026, TVA released the preliminary final IRP and EIS for public review. During the 30‑day review period, TVA received about 245 comment submittals. TVA reviewed distinct comments per TVA NEPA procedures at 18 CFR 1318.500 and made two minor revisions in response. The final documents reflect changes based on stakeholder and public input. A summary of comments and the revisions are in Appendix J of the final EIS.
