Draft 2025 Integrated Resource Plan

The Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) is a comprehensive study that provides direction on how to best meet future electricity demand. TVA released a draft IRP and accompanying draft environmental impact statement (EIS) on September 23, 2024, and initiated a public comment period that ended on December 11, 2024.

Today, TVA is reviewing and evaluating public input and conducting further analysis to appropriately incorporate feedback provided during the public comment period. The final IRP and EIS release dates are pending. The final document will incorporate changes based on the evaluation of stakeholder and public comments, and all comments will be addressed in the final EIS. Further, the final IRP and EIS will reflect changes in information and circumstances since the IRP was paused in early 2025.

The final IRP will include power supply mix ranges, recommendations for short-term strategic portfolio direction and information on factors that will influence long-term portfolio direction.

Upon its completion, the final IRP will be presented to the TVA Board and if the TVA Board accepts the IRP recommendations, the IRP will serve as TVA’s compass for power generation decisions as well as for long-term operational and financial planning.
