TVA To Close Road Over Wilson Dam Weekly For the Next Month

April 24, 2014

FLORENCE, Ala. – Traffic across Wilson Dam on South Cox Creek Parkway/North Wilson Dam Road near Florence will be closed Monday mornings to Thursday evenings through May 22 for maintenance on the forebay cranes used on the upstream side of the roadway.

A complete closure each day is necessary for the safety of motorists and repair crews. Full access should be restored by 5 p.m. CST on Thursday, May 22.

In the event of stormy weather, the work may be extended or rescheduled. Motorists should expect delays and may want to consider another route. Signs will be placed on both sides of the bridge and gates will be in place.
