ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The Watts Bar Nuclear Plant Unit 2 reactor is on schedule to become the first NEW nuclear generation of the 21st century. Targeted to begin commercial operation between December 2015 and June 2016, the reactor will be the nation’s first “new” nuclear power in nearly 20 years. Watts Bar Unit 1 was the last nuclear reactor to begin commercial operation in the U.S.

Significant milestones have been met over the past 2 years on the project, while staying on schedule and on budget. As a result, a critical testing phase – open vessel testing – has begun ahead of schedule.
