Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Communications
Kathy Black is TVA's senior vice president for Human Resources and Communications. She is responsible for leading the agency's people-related functions and driving related practices and procedures to support TVA's mission and business objectives.
Black's oversight includes the areas of communications, compensation and benefits, employee relations, talent sourcing, labor relations, organizational effectiveness, and various human resources support services, including human capital development and human resources information systems.
Before her current appointment, Black was TVA's vice president of human resources, and previously director of employee relations, responsible for managing workforce planning, staffing and recruiting, talent management, performance management, and labor relations. She also has managed occupational health, worker's compensation, fitness for duty, organizational development and other human resources programs at TVA.
Prior to joining TVA in 1986, Black served in the U.S. Army. She has a bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Tennessee.
